My name’s Jamal. I’m an aspiring author and an English major graduate from Temple University.

Here on The Fiction Writer I’ll be blogging on writing topics, showcasing my work, and sharing tools and tips to help you along your writing journey.

My genres are thrillers, sci-fi, and literary fiction, which is more character-focused than plot. Authors who inspire me include Duane Swierczynski, Dennis Lehane, Lydia Davis, and Teju Cole.

When I’m not writing short stories, I’m jogging, exploring the city, sitting in a park with hot chai, or watching an A24 movie.
